Which rectifier/regulator?

The Dynamo Regulators Ltd DVR2 is excellent and a nice company to deal with. 01489 880552

If you are using a new regulator, why not use a 12 volt battery and rewire the alternator to provide the single (higher) output? As it is, it probably switches coils in and out according to the headlamp switch settings. That's so crude that it's not worth keeping.One benefit is that you'll be able to have brighter headlights.Opinion masquerading as fact as usual!

I went the 12 volt route using an AO Services regulator. Wouldn't look back. I have great lights and heated handlebar grips. Well worth it when you are out on cold nights!

I agree with David and Gordon and go one step further, fit a Boyer Power Box. Everything in one and still reliability, even with a duff battery and blown main fuse.

And what do you mean 'if the Summer returns?' It is still July and we are supposed to be suffering from man made catastrophic warming. The very reason most of our petrol has got Ethanol in it!

The DVR2 is an excellent addition on amotorcycle(I use one), but they are only suitable for D.C.dynamo's (generators)!From what i gather, themachine in questionhas an A.C. alternator and will need a rectifier/regulator, which the DVR2 is not.

From AO Services website. I use the A Reg 1 in my Dominator and DVR2s in my dynamo-equipped bikes.
