Did the slimline Dommie seat change between 1960 and 1963?

My 1963 88 dualseat has two rubber bungs at the front for the horizontal pegs behind the tank, two pegs that locate in holes in the rear suspension mounting and a rear tab that fixes to the rear mudguard by a Dzus fastener.

A friend had me look at a 1960 88 that he's thinking of buying and the seat was lacking the two pegs and the rear fixing. It was held on by the two front horizontal pegs as usual, and a couple of spring clips to the crossbar behind the tool tray. The seat had a fibreglass base, which is obviously not Norton, so I assume it has been adapted. The funny thing is that there is no sign of holes either in the mudguard, for the Dzus fastener, or on the suspension brackets, for the pegs.

Is this an early seat fixing method? Are correct seats or bases available in the UK?

The spring clip fittings applied to the Deluxe models. Don't know if it applied to the rest of the range.

When I bought my new 1960 99 seat from Leighton's in Birmingham (Excellent original quality) the boss asked me which version I wanted, as the rear fixing changed during 1960.

I have a feeling mine being an August 1960 model should have had the spring clips (Not deluxe) but I went for the later design, like my other slimlines, much better I think?

The 99 early slimline I had in the midsixties had spring clips. It fell off when I came way too fast over a hump bridge. Managed to hold it with my leg. My present 650SS has pegs and Dzus.

Thank you for your replies. It seems the bike in question probably has the correct fixings but fitted to a home-made fibreglass seat pan.
