Dominator Footrest hangers

Forums

Hi. I have a 1960 99 Slimline in Cafe Racer trim. I am converting it back to standard but have been unable to obtain the RH (gearbox/off) side Footrest Hanger. However, I do have 2 LH (nearside) hangers. I am assuming that left and right have the same ends with pegs on one end to locate in the engine plate and serrations on the other end to locate footrest plus allow adjustment. The length of the RH will be shorter than the LH hanger. My thought is to cut a piece out of the spare LH hanger and get it welded back together. If my assumption is correct can someone give me the overall length I need (from start of pegs to end of serrations).

Cheers. Mick

Hi Fritz and Bob. I must be calling them by the wrong name. I think you both are talking about the Footrests. The bit I am calling the "Hanger" locates in the engine plate and the Footrest is then fixed to that.

The left hand side one comes from the engine plate through the Primary chaincase and out. a nut then goes onto the sleeve to hold on the outercase, the footrest goes onto the serrations. A spindle out through the centre and a nut then clamps the footrest to what I call the "Hanger". The RH side is much simpler because it just locates in the engine plate, footrest goes onto that, nut onto spindle to clamp footrest. The bit I need the length of is the bit that locates in the RH side engine plate (see original message).

Thank you both for your interest. Mick.

Many thanks. It is the RH one I need. The rough drawing of the LH one was just to give an example of what the ends looked like.

I will get it on order.

Cheers. Mick.
