I have tried to fit one of these units to my 18d2 distributor with no success. The problem appears to be that at kickstart speed there is no dwell time for the coil to saturate,I understand that the dwell time increases with the revs on this unit and that the positive earth unit operates in a different way to neg earth units, With a kickstart bike it appears that you need to be superhuman to get a start. This is exactly the opposite to what i need. Anyone using one on a kickstart bike?.
