Brake pedal orientation adjustment

Have any 961 owner's adjusted the brake pedal to that it's start position is rotated further forward around the peg?

I am betting the postion of the sport and the Cafe Racer's pedal are the same even though with Clip ons, Your foot rotates as you lean forward to reach the bars.

Is this pedal splined, so that it can be orientated around does anyone know. My footoften activates it , when I am not back on the peg, itself.

Thanks, Roger

Hello Roger, I only ever use the rear brake on any of my bikes for slow speed work or when there is a wet road, and I thinkthat'sjust a comfort confidence thing,

Hello again Roger the lever has two 4mm countersunk screws that holds a plate that has and ident that acts as a stopper for the rear brake, which goes against a spiggot that is cast into the footpedal fixing bracket. The only way of moving the position of the lever would be to redrill the tapped 4mm fixing srews, so the lever is in a diferent orientation.

To have a look, first remove the foot peg via a m10 nut that has a special locating washer on the inside of said pedal bracket casting, when removing pedal unclip master cylinder retaining rod ,dont dropthe rod or loose it, this will also need to be readjusted after to compensate for new positionif you decide to do the mod. hope this is of use.

Paul.

You can make limited adjustment relatively easy. The threaded rod that connects the rear brake pedal and hydraulic cyclinder is adjustable (within limits are held by a locking nut.

A small adjustment, will alter the angle of the start position of the pedal. Every little helps.

that adjustment wont alter where the pedal rests as its not fixed into the master cylinder it will always rest against the stop

it will just mean you have to push the pedal further befour it starts to work

i just re drilled mine and re tapped the two m4 holes carefully it took about an hour with a pedestal drill and a hand tap,

it realy needed doing as the brake pedal fell above my foot..
