Hello Chaps
Thought you might like to see a machine my brother and I built in 1969 when we were in our teens. It's a 1960 600 dominator and we did quite a lot to it including tilting the engine in the frame and tuning the engine. We used 10.2 to one pistons, hot cam (can't remember which), flowed the heads and rubber mounted the carbs on 9" inlets, lightened valvegear and followers, roller timing side, polished rods, retimed, wide gear pump etc.
It was pretty good but the brakes were dreadful.
Anyway, we intend to build a replica of this bike and are on the lookout for a suitable donor vehicle - probably a complete bike we can modifiy again. Any thoughts or pointers very welcome.
Bruce

I almost is in the same position, had a 99 set up just like yours in the mid-sixties. A week ago, I got a 650SS home and have some thoughts about setting it up in that style. The improved gas flow on the 650 and Atlas engines seems more appropriate for the task. Besides back then, I dreamed about upgrading to a bigger one, but didn't have the means. So I wish you luck and hope you'll find asuitable object.
