Ford Silver Fox is as close as you will get.

Yes Bang on the money Silver Fox will do the trick, you can get this in airosoles But look on Ebay for Anti-ethenol Lacquer , its really good stuff but expensive , there is a gas pull ring on the under side of the can, remember when spraying make shure your work space is very clean and dust free, and the right temereture above 60F

I am just about to get the tank painted but have been informed that the Silver Fox comes in either Moon Dust or Star Dust. Do you know which one I should use ?

Another good alternative is Volkwagen Reflex Silver. This colour has been in constant use since 1976 and is again the most popular chosen, having taken over from white. It needs lacquering to finish it off which gives it further protection from ethanol spills.

Take a look at all the VW's out there in this colour.

Reflex silver can be obtained from almost any paint dealer or in aerosols from car accessory shops etc along with the required lacquer.

Metalic paints are more difficult to spray due to the paint needing to be thinner than say celulose paints. Because of this and the fact that the petrol tank is a prominent feature of the bike, it is better to let a professional paint sprayer due the job.

Waring Do Not Spray Lacquer bought from a motor save shop , you need Anti-ethnol Lacquer, it has a ring pull on the under side of the can , get two cans and use in thin coats do not try to use the can in one go have a bucket of hot water handy to put your can into to keep it warm , you find this works better and give a good high coat finish, and remember to buff down the silver paint with T-cut and clean off before any Lacquering do not over lacquer, it kills off the metallic effect, To get a good top finish you need bags of paitions work with extra care and be very clean this meens no dust of any kind if you make a mistake or get a run any where its game over walk way let it dry, and start all over again , yours anna j
