Just bought (see pics) these to put on the '75 Mk3 850 I am rebuilding. These were advertised as NOS and from the condition internally and externally clearly haven't been used. Can anyone shine some light on the holes drilled in each end, and why they were left chrome on the ends. On both silencers the holes are in the same position as if drilled using a jig. My line of thinking is that the original Black Cap was de-riveted from the main silencer, removed and this is what you will find as standard under the removed cap(s). In comparison I have a Trident T160 but the Black Caps seem fixed permanently. Your thoughts
