Commando exhaust rose

Forums

I am a new member and wanted to ask if anyone has replaced the exhaust rose with stainless steel versions?

I am just concerned that the Stainless may fuse with the alloy head. Or can someone recommend something that can withstand the heat, such as grease to enable me in future to be able to remove?

Thanks Simon

I use the Bronze ones, closer coefficient of expansion to aluminum alloy so less likely to loosen and do not rust. Stainless has its uses but can't see any advantage on these nuts over bronze and instead see a risk of threads stripping from seizure.

remove when hot.

I use some stainless as well, been doing so for years with no issues. The trick is as above, most especially when tightening the hotter the better.
