Sammy Miller Museum

I took my wife to the museum on Monday 2nd Jan as a special treat!  (No - REALLY!)  She loved it as always and, after our tour, enjoyed reminiscing with the staff about her Dad 's bikes in the 1950s. Especially BSA Gold Flashes.  It is a magnificent museum and we always enjoy it, but I was surprised that the Norton Owner's Club is not on the list for member's entry discounts - unlike Triumph and BSA (amongst several others).  Why is this?

Hi Lionel

We'll pick this up with Sammy Miller and hope we can offer something similar. Thanks for the heads up!

Now that that the Sammy Miller Museum has been enlarged it is a really special place that is well worth a visit. The exhibits are numerous but well spaced with detailed information boards or even books about each bike. The section showing off the Norton collection is most impressive: more so now that a whole bundle of experimental and prototype bikes and engines have been added to that exclusive room.

The grapevine informs me that the Museum is not likely to offer a discounted entry to NOC members. Becoming a BMCT card waver is currently the best way to get into this museum on the cheap. But even that is about to change this year with restrictions on the use of the card.

The SMM A/J will also be held in May just 10 days before. More information can be found using the link provided by the WebMaster. However, be aware that on A/J event days visiting bikes (& cars) are normally parked in the fields by the main entrance and not in the Museum courtyard or the usual car parking areas.
