Roadholder not delivered yet

My December issue of Roadholder (issue 396) has not arrived by 6th December, whereas some members received theirs on 1st December; why the delay?

I know others have been delivered as I've been receiving enquiries about some parts I have for sale.  It would be useful if the current issue was available on the website on the 1st of the month, but restricted to members only access.

Hi Philip

We’re sorry to hear that you have yet to recieve your copy of Roadholder?

We’re aware of a number of members in the Lincolnshire and south Yorkshire area who have experienced delays but we have been assured that the deliveries will be made shortly.

As you suggest the club does make electronic copies of ‘Roadholder’ available on the website to members and the December issue is available. To view the electronic copy, simply click on the Roadholder menu button the find the 2020 Archive?

It took from Monday to Saturday for a first class post delivery from Cumbria to me in London. Perhaps it's Black Friday crush...

Hello Philip, when you suggest "It would be useful if the current issue was available on the website on the 1st of the month, but restricted to members only access". As Peter says, I upload and 'activate' each edition on or near the first of each month and it is readable by any logged-on member. This has been the case for about the last six years.

The postal delays are frustrating but out of our hands I'm afraid. If you haven't received your copy in the next day or two email: membership@nortonownersclub.org. What's even more frustrating is the fact that postal rates are to increase considerably in the New Year.

Mark,

Thanks for pointing me to the Archive for the current Roadholder.  I didn't think to look in the Archive for the current edition!

We've heard that due to Covid 19, Royal Mail are working with reduced staff numbers and the normal delivery teams of two in many areas are reduced to single-person operation thus slowing deliveries etc. - not helped by the Christmas rush.

The January edition has already gone for printing to try and overcome some of the problems. Fingers crossed ... .
