Wideline Tanks

When fitting new chrome panels to my tank would it be best to glue the rubber strip to the panels before adjusting them to fit the shape of the tank?

And also, I have a problem with the tickover on my 650ss - the bodies are worn where they go in the monoblocs. Is it best to replace them with concentrics or have them repaired and if so, can you advise a repairer.
