Hi all. I have a wide line featherbed frame that I purchased many years ago from the widow of an ex factory racer. Was going to use for racing but never did. I am trying to find out any details about its origins. Model etc . Frame number N 79116 . The books I have only go back to number 79866. If anyone can assist it will be much appreciated. Andy.

Hi Andrew - your frame number falls within a batch produced around the middle of 1958. The letter 'N' being the identifier for a 1958 model and both agree with my records for the production date suggested.
For more information you have a couple of choices.......Go through the NOC Records which includes form filling and possibly a wait. Or head for Records Office in either the National Motorcycle Museum (if open) or the VMCC (may cost money).
