I am going to have another go at adjusting the vernier (Hemmings I believe). Having looked at the MK3 handbook it says that adjustment should be done with the bike OFF the centre stand with the wheels off the ground with the bike supported on the bottom frame tubes.
1) Is this only for the MK3 or does this apply to verniers put onto a 750?
2) How can I achieve this safely without a bike lift on my own?
Help! I really dont want to end up trapped under my bike!

The MK3 had the spring on the head steady which may be the reason for the writeup, I have veniers on my MK2A and foÄ?low the pre MK3 procedure except when I adjust the gap with the vernier instead of changing shims and it works for me.
