The two Nortons in the family both have coil ignition one with a Boyer and one with electronic trigger in a Dissy. Looking in my spares box i see two K2F mags ,one manual and one auto ,both needing restoration . What would YOU do?,fix them up just in case ,or flog them as is.?.Don't intend to buy any more twins.

Since you have no use for these items, why waste money restoring them? There maybe someone out there, with an earlier model twin, desperate for a magneto I, personally, converted mine to electronic ignition because I didn't want to wait months whilst it was restored.

Independent Ignition & The Green spark plug company are both vendors of mine, as I rebuild magnetos here in the States. Neither of them rebuild magnetos.
I personally. prefer a well built mag to the electronic ones, but they both have merit. As to the old mags, sell them at an auto jumble, or eBay. Sell "as is" "for restoration". That way you will be helping someone else bike get back on the road, and put a few Pounds in the discretionary motorcycle fund

Decided to hedge my bets. Don't trust new (ish!) technology, or old coil electrics . I still like the idea of a totally independant ignition. I will fix up one of the mags and keep it as a spare with all the bits needed to switch. I will take it with me to the IOM , don't want another holliday swopping plugs and scratching head.Just having all the stuff will ensure its not needed.
