Hello,does anyone know ifa clutch centre from a WD Norton 16h(with theUpright dolls head gearbox), will fit a circa 1948-49 Nortonsingle (with the Upright dolls eye gearbox), i.e. are the main axle shafts splinesand diameter identical in each box? or are there differences between the pre-warand post war 'singles' clutch? any info would be much appreciated.

You shouldn't have a problem. My WD16H has a mid-sixties AMC clutch in it, simply because it is what came along first. It was a squeeze due to the thicker back plate but there were no alignment issues at all. The clutch centre and chain line positioning is unaltered.
