Powering accessories without removing the tank!

Hi all.

So I want to add a Quad Lock wireless charger to my brand new Commando 961 SP.

To the best of my knowledge, you can't access the battery terminals without taking the tank off. I really don't want to do this!

Norton have placed a female charging connector under the seat. My question is, can I use this connector to power my Quad Lock?

My plan is use this adaptor:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B072WDMJSY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?sm…

Followed by this adaptor (not using the battery terminal part):
https://www.quadlockcase.co.uk/products/waterproof-12v-to-usb-smart-ada…

Connected to this:
https://www.quadlockcase.co.uk/products/weatherproof-wireless-charging-…

I think I can run the wiring nicely without removing the tank.

Any advice, thoughts, suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Chris

So I decided to just give it a go and wanted to report I am very happy with the result.

Took a while to route the USB cable nicely but it all works very nicely.

the lead has direct connection to battery at all times, so all good then!

...does indeed.

Please note the Quad Lock switch in the USB to SAE cable detects the voltage drop when you switch off ignition and prevents any battery drain.

That sounds like it works very well, thank you for sharing your solution.  I was wondering if you also used a trickle charger when not using the bike and how you did this now that you are using the under seat female connector for your Quadlock connection?

In fact you don't have to remove the tank completely to access battery terminals , just undo the 3 tank securing bolts (1 at rear and 2 at front) then carefully lift tank over to left side with fuel connection etc undisturbed , supporting tank on something soft strategically placed. This is what I do on my 2012 Mk1 Donington Sport model and presume latest 961's have the same tank fitting arrangement.
