How to remove the timing chain on a 750 Commando?

Hi

How can I lock the engine to remove the Crankshaft nut ? the top end is still on the engine I only want to replace the timimn chain ? In 4th gear foot on the brake the cluch just slips

Try sticking a piece of wood between the primary chain and the crankshaft drive sprocket. It always worked for me although the wood doesn't look so good afterwards.
