Is there a document that will give the year of manufacture of a Model 77 gearbox from its reference number?CheersGeorge
OOps! Not very interesting…
OOps! Not very interesting I know. hence the lack of response. But I need to know which year the g/box is as it is fitted to an ES2 and whilst I have a fair bit of info on ES2's I have nothing on twins so I'll have to buy a spares lis to get the right parts for the box. I have a ref no. on it but need to know which year it is. Of course the year may not matter of they stayed the same over their life. Any info would help.

George, ask one of the NOC…
George, ask one of the NOC records officers. Using the factory records database, they should be able to give you production date and model without any difficulty

The 'Dominator Gearbox'…
The 'Dominator Gearbox' thread will give you an idea that it may not be straightforward!
Doing a search of this site may well turn up the information you are seeking.
BTW, Model 77's were fitted with both laydown and AMC 'boxes; which is it?

Thanks Ian. It's a laydow…
Thanks Ian. It's a laydown box. Looks the same as the ES2 pre AMC box but apparently has subtle differences internally. It's also a tad slimmer.

Thanks Richard. I'll try that after I make a note of the number.
