Commando Roadster right hand side panel

Forums

Have an authenticated 1970 Commando Roadster. Has too long a sealed fibreglass tank tank, and someone cut the front corners out of the fibreglass side panels to fit it!

Looking at getting steel tank and side panels, maybe from India and already painted etc (interested if anyone has actually bought a decent set?)

How come ALL the right hand panels are shallower than left with a bottom bracket poking out, 2 mount things under the top side? Mine is mirror of the left....locating pins on the frame for holes in the rear/shorter side, plus plates sticking out the top with dzus fasteners. I must have an odd bike? Cannot find a similar right side anyplace...........

Can't help you on the panel but on the tank the Roadster one is good from Emgo, the rest will have to be second hand unless you want to risk India, there is one seller in India that states his Interstate tank is formed using tooling and not hand beaten and it gets good reviews but just looking at the pics of the Indian Roadsters shows them with a very boxy shape.

The right-hand side panel with tool kit holder was used with the central oil tank fitted to early non-Fastback models (apart from the 'R') These were the 'S' Type and also the 'Roadster' with the full logo on the side panel.
