Can I use later, say 1971 on, Commando fork yokes on an earlier 1970 frame, is it just the fork "stops" on the headstock that need cutting off/repositioning? Thanks, Ken

Steering head length is different so bearings are further apart and the later stem too short to fit the yokes to the early frame. Quite apart from all the other problems. Stick to the early (correct) yokes for that frame.

Do not use 850 yokes, they have offset stanchion holes and will change the front end geometry, they have ANG cast on the underside of the yokes.
