Clutch fouling sleeve gear

Hi

Has anyone any ideas what could cause the clutch when fastened binds up onto the sleeve gear shoulder where it comes through the case. Bike was a basket case gear box rebuilt with all new bearings, bushes, springs, and seals all seems to work fine. The clutch goes onto the main shaft the correct distance cheeked on an old main shaft. Are there different sleeve gear lengths may be from a different model?

Hi

This is on a 1960 99 dominator with an AMC box, main shaft seems to check out ok as I have a spare. The splines seem to be to far inside the sleeve gear. I thought it could be the outter main shaft bearing not right home but that seems ok which could move the main shaft into the sleeve gear. I am running out of idea's. What would be helpful would be a measurement of the sleeve gear say from the sprocket thread to end where the mainshaft exits.

Thanks Nick
