Blue plaque at the Norton factory

About 15 years aho the club unveiled a blue plaque at the Norton factory in Brace Bridge Street.

Does anybody know where the plaque is now?

Didn't I read it went to the National Motorcycle Museum? Weird - what's the point of a plaque that isn't at the location it should be?

Peter,

I asked this question last year and it seems that it now resides in the National Motorcycle Museum. As the old factory is still standing it should still be there and transferred to any new building when the area is re-developed, as this marks the original site.

I've wondered why it was removed and taken to the NMM? My son and I attended the ceremony when Geoff Duke unveiled it, so would like to see the plaque back in place.

If the NMM has obtained it legally and wants to keep it I believe that they should make a duplicate to be put up where the original one was mounted.

I suspect it is more to do with the current owner of the building not wanting a blue plaque on his building; you can't make him have one.
