Air slide sticks when I tighten the top cap!

Forums

I've heard of slides sticking because the flange nuts are done up too tight - but has anyone had a slide stick when the top capheads are tightened?? As long as I keep the capheads just finger tight (looser the better) it works fine. I'm using a single amal carb supplied by Andover.

Hi John I know this might sound a bit soft but is the cap being fitted the correct way around,

Paul.

Tightening up the screws could be distorting the carb. I think this is quite common. Some metal polish should clean it out enough to get it working no trouble. But don't over do it, you dont want an air leak.
