Does the silver/grey paint used on the 650SS petrol tank have a paint code or RAL number? I will be getting mine repainted soon and would like the colour to be as original as possible.
Hi. I used Ford Silver Fox…

Strangely enough ... .
I'm trying to recompile the colour chart etc. for the Dominator Service Notes (now on the website in draft form) and the RAL code for silver/grey is RAL9006 (see page 166) let us know if it's near your requirement? The problems these days include the fact that vehicle manufacturers keep changing their paint colour codes so input from members ref. their findings would be most welcome.

Ford Silver Fox
Hi John,
(Mark - I replied with this also to your post…). I sprayed my 1963 Atlas last year using the Ford Silver Fox equivalent. I found a rattlecan version on ebay, a base coat and a 2k clear coat, made by Safonov Autolacke in Germany. Their website is on one of the photos. I assume XSC352 or 352 is the code.
SprayMax 2K Set 800 ml Originallack FORD EUROPE XSC352 SILVER FOX MET. 1966-1971
Ford recently launched a new Silver Fox, which is a flat, non-metallic grey, code JQQLXWA, which is now stocked by many suppliers and can lead to confusion! Be careful not to end up with this one…
The rattle can kit was very easy to use and sufficient for one tank; the 2K clear coat also makes the paint E10 petrol proof. A few photos of the tank attached, hope this helps,
Holger

Hi. I used Ford Silver Fox on my Dommie 99 tank and when it’s next to an original 1960 tank that I’ve got, you’d hardly notice any difference in colour.
Good luck
