LAYDOWN GEARBOX SELECTOR BUSHES

On my 1954 ES2 I’ve been having gear selector problems, so have stripped and removed the gearbox from the frame as the bush for the quadrant arm leaks oil.  When I stripped it down I found that the quadrant was rotating on the spindle, rather than the spindle turning in the bush.

I’ve looked at the AMC gearbox diagrams and see that they incorporate an ‘O’ ring on the selector plate and quadrant spindles outer ends.  Does anyone know whether the AMC gearbox bushes with the ‘O’ ring seal will fit into the Laydown gearbox shell without modification?  Also, I see that these bushes on the inside of the gearbox are raised above the casting face, but by how much?

Photos attached (hopefully).

I recently modified a 1956 ES2 laydown box to take the later 'o' ring seals as the original bushes were worn and leaking g/box oil. This involved machining a recess in the outside of the g/box case to take the 'o' ring. New bushes and seals came from Andover
