anybody know off the top of their head what size and no. of links the magneto chain should have for 29' Model 18.....thanks in advance
There are chain length…
There are chain length calculators on the web. But the input values might be inconvenient since the ones most easily found are for bicycles with 1/2" pitch. I suspect that's what you have anyway.

Hi Dave....I am working my way through all the possibilities. The chances are that the chain dimensions will be one of those two.....just a different length. Does this Model 18 have the Magneto sticking out the front?
In which case it may be 0.375 x 0.25 x 0.155 x 52 links.....this needs confirming

I don’t know the exact details of what your engine requires but maybe Mr. Norman at Racing Vincent can shed some light. He offers this chain for the later pre-war single.

I assume your engine has the forward, horizontally mounted chain. Are the sprockets still there? Let him know the number of teeth too if so.
