I am looking for a speedo cable for my 1934 inter. It is the type that goes down the the right angle drive on the front hub. I measured it up as needing to be 24inchs long. Does anyone know of a source for these? I presume it is the same as the ones fitted to all the pre-war OHV and SV bikes as well?

Andy, do you have the Jaeger-type clip-fixing on the speedo head ? Johnsons can certainly make an externally similar 'thick' cable (although the internal construction is as per the later type).
24" sounds short to me. My 16H has 26" and it occurs to me that Inter forks may be longer if they used 21" front wheels at that time.

My inter has ES2 forks on it so no worry about them being longer on this occasion but I will be sure to have another measure up and see what I come up with this time.
I honestly don't know what the different fittings are on speedo heads to be honest so wouldn't know which one I have. May need to do some more research if I'm going to get one made.

Does anyone know if it should be a rubber coated cable or metal armoured one on that?

My apparently ancient and probably original 1937 16H has rubber cover (over the steel). Quite large diameter - half an inch or so.Top inner has a sleeve that fits on a spigot coming out of the speedo. Held with one screw fitted sideways through a slot in the sleeve.I think it's original but who can tell? The speedo is stamped 1937.Russells told me the other day that they cannot get them - so it's handy to be told there are specialists who will make them up when or if I ever need a new one...
