Hi all ,
the gearbox on the Dominator88 has been replaced now with a 5 speed unit which works very well. The next task is to improve the brakes. Has anyone fitted a twin leading shoe set up on the front? Any problems in installation , does it just slot in to the existing drum? And lastly what make is being used out there a consensus of opinion would be useful before I begin.
My bike is a 1961 Model 50
A good friend gave me a TLS brake plate.
Fitted on perfectly with no modifications.
You might have to adjust the length of the brake cable inner and outer to make the cable fit.
You will probably have to make up ,or buy a commando cable and then have to change the length to suit the Dommy lever.
The Dommie anchor boss thread will be cycle and the Commando TLS will be UNF. Probably.
My TLS had cycle probably due to previous owner. I ended up buying a new boss so I could fit Commando cable.
