Bike is 1959 Dommi '99' - at some time it was modified to fit a belt drive. I believe the clutch to be that of a Commando but Norvil say it isn't one of their 'Dommi' kits. RGM say the belt is not their's as it's black in colour. Anyway, the current belt is damaged and I need to replace it. The clues are:
Black - 120 round teeth - 27mm wide, but could easily be a worn 30 mm - 8mm pitch - main clutch pulley is 45mm wide - drive pulley on crankshaft is 30mm wide between the two guiding edges - belt max thickness 0.230"
On the back of the belt is written " Power Grip HTD" and the numbers "960 8M 30" which I presume is telling me that the belt is 30mm wide and at 8mm pitch ?
Thanks,
Mike
It's a Gates belt

Gates Belt
Ian, thanks for the supplier link. I was a bit slow getting back to this forum and I have already bought a belt (hopefully the correct one) from Norvil for what I consider to be a huge amount of money !! Alas.

It will probably be made by Gates. Power Grip HTD is their description. You are right about the 8M & 30 being the width and pitch. The 960 is the length. Last time I bought one for my Commando I got it from an engineering supplies place and it was significantly cheaper than the usual suspects charge.
Found this one, there are probably other suppliers.
