Can someone confirm Moto bat MB9U is the correct upgrade for my 74 Mk 2a? Last gell battery I tried was a Harley item and was just wide enough to fit ,so of course it rubbed a hole , and the last lead /acid item (yb14la2) was too tall and awkward to fit ,leading to wilful neglect and the usual death rites Mk 2a is Mk 3 athwart style tray arrangement Thanks All.

Sorry I didn't spot this earlier – I have a Motobatt MBTX14AU (16.5 A/h) battery in my MK2A, which fits the transverse battery tray and doesn't foul the frame at all. I'd say it's exactly the same size as the last lead acid battery I had in there. I can't comment on the MB9U as I haven't seen one in the flesh, but comparing online photos it looks as though my battery is the taller of the two, so I'd imagine the MB9U would fit, at least. HTH
