Hi Has anyone a wiring diagram for a 1962 navigator the one in the manual showes only one coil ? Why.

Hello there,

I noticed that as well. I have an original 1959 Instruction Book as well as a 1961/62 one and I think it was just a printing error. In the original 1959-60 Maintenance Manual for the Jubilee it shows correctly as twin coils. Simply there is a jointing link (dark green) from SW on coil one to SW on coil two. There should then be two maroon wires from the CB terminals to the points.

Hi the BSA wiring diagram apart from colour codes is the same as had the same problem myself, and it works with twin coils. Hope this help.

Hi Stephen,

The 1963 manual shows twin coils. Very poor quality I am afraid but if you use it in conjunction with an earlier one it may make sense.

Correct wiring as above. But just to keep you up to speed, the SW means Switch ie ignition supply, while CB means Contact Braker doh.

But this is for Posative earth! If for any reason you happen to go to Negative earth then you have to reverse these two connections. You won't do any damage if you don't but the spark won't be as strong as it might be. Lucas coils are marked +- so this takes care of it. These signs follow the battery voltage.

You should be on 12 V and with electronic ignition anyway! Which makes no difference to the above information.
