I believe my 1937 16H Civilian should have a rubber mounted handlebar clamp. What does that look like and where might I get one please?
thanks

I like the way they say …
I like the way they say "insulated from road shocks" when what they mean is "insulated against engine vibrations because nobody wants to pay for a balance shaft like Mr Lanchester and clever chaps like him might have fitted".

rubber mounted bars
Racingnorton only supply 'upside down' bars with brazed on clips for the 30's OHC Nortons used for racing. Only if demand is sufficient they will make a batch for the normal models. Some years ago I got a plain metal clip from them to bend and press it in shape around the bars and fix it with brazing (before plating). I still didn't tackel the job.

Most of the range gained the rubber-mounted bars for 1935 and they ran through to 1939. You'll need bars with the brazed tang, a different top fork clip and the clamp half....The only way to find the fork parts is second-hand. The tang for the bars and the rubbers have been available recently.
