1937 Norton 16h rear wheel/brake set up

Forums

Hi All,

Hope you are all well, and looking forward to the end of lockdown!. Hope you can help. I am restoring my 16h but the bike came in crates so I have not been able to photography the strip down. Because we are all in lockdown I have not been able to visit a museum to be able to get a reference.

Anyhow my problem is I do not have a drawing that shows the set up of the rear brakes, in that what type of spacers are used, the parts manual id not clear. Looking from the back and taking a reference from the frame and aligning the rear sprocket with the gear box sprocket the gap on the right hand side seems to be excessive. Also I do not have all the spacers happy to machine them up but I was hoping you guys maybe able to help?

Thanks again and stay safe

Steve...I'm fairly sure this question was asked fairly recently...within the past year or so...can you do a search? I measured the spacers on mine at that time.

Hello David,

My thanks, i had to machine up a spacer of approx 1/4" on the right hand of the bike. I did do a search and found a picture of a WD 16H but it did nor show all the spacers, but i was able to work out which spacers went were from what  i had.

Thanks again for your help.

Kind Regards

Steve
