Hi, I have a 1954 ES2.
it is now very close to getting back on the Road after more than 35 years. But I am struggling to find the part number or supplier for the large rubber inspection bung on the primary chain case cover.
it is not listed in the 1950 parts manual. Can any one help ?
Also has any one fitted Servis Brand Tyres and if so are they any good ? Best Regards,
Pete.
p.s. Just discovered it is Positive Earth so had to reflash the dynamo field coil.

Or
This very club has them. Look in NOC shop, under heavyweight twins.
Item number A2/488.
52p+p&p.
Never heard of 'Servis' tyres, but then I only ever use top brand rubber as I like to ride using the bikes performance and also don't mind the rain. Never understood why people put cheap tyres on a bike or car worth thousands. Each to their own though.

It also sells part no 25341…
It also sells part no 25341 in heavyweight twins at £1.50

Hi George, I have just spent…
Hi George, I have just spent nearly £500 on tyres on my Buell and Beemer so I was looking for a slightly cheaper option.
i think the ES2 will be a Sunny Sunday Bike so Bridgestones are probably not required. Thank you for your feed back.
Cheers, Pete.

Back in the day Firestones…
Back in the day Firestones lasted for ever, but ran for cover when it rained.

Modern equivalent sizes …
Modern equivalent sizes often come up too wide ,go carefully.

Gravestone
We used to call Bridgestones ...Gravestones very similar to Firestone’s but they also broke away in the dry ! Theres more.
The ES2 was starting very easily.
After filling the Primary Chain Case with 1/2 pint of oil it is now harder to start. Could there be a link ? Or is the Norton Trying to bugger up my poorly Knee ? it has succeeded !

Classic Tyres
The Tyres I am looking at are made for Classic British Bikes.

Don't go over the 3 inch…
Don't go over the 3 inch front size or it will rub on the bridge. Probably.
Motorcycle press articles recommended adding the bung hole to earlier bikes. No doubt that's why you have it.

Do you mean the rubber bung that is used to access the clutch pushrod adjuster? If you do, the reason it isn't in the parts book is that your age of bike shouldn't have one. Much later bikes did, so you'd need to look at parts list for one of those, like an Atlas maybe.
If you don't mean that, then a picture would help.
