Does anyone know where I can buy a left hand exhaust pipe for my plunger Model 7 that actually fits ? Armours can theoretically supply but they dont fit ! (the tail pipe finishes pointing downwards, not horizontal). Have spoken with Raysons and they probably can make me one but could take a couple of months and then I would still have to get it chromed with even more delay. The usual suppliers of Norton goodies dont list them.
Any leads greatly appreciated but if all else fails, if anybody else is in need of one then a group approach to Raysons may result in a reduction in unit cost (current quote is around £125 - bare steel)
Update - Feked can supply the pipe but I have to buy both left and right as a pair. Armours have come back to me and they have made a new pipe to a different profile which they are sending to me unchromed to see how it fits. Good service I think. Will keep you all posted how thing develop.
Another update - Armours new pipe arrived. Much closer fit than the first one but still not quite right. By agreement with them I have modified the profile and it now fits ! Obviously its much easier to tweak a bit here then another tweak there when you have the bike in front of you to check it against. Just a couple of degrees change on a bend can make a big difference at the other end of the pipe. It just needs to go back to Armours now for chroming. Unfortunately this happened just at the start of the choronavirus lock down and Armours have had to shut down the workshop side of their business (they still can send stuff out mail order I understand). So, its all on hold till we can all get out and about again. I know Armours have come in for some chritisism in the past but my experience in resolving a problem has been excellent - well done to them ! And - after my pipe gets back to them, they will have a pattern for a pipe that fits !
