I have read a lot about worn Norton roadholder sliders/lower forks.I cannot believe the complicated ways people have suggested. Most of them will weaken the slider/lower fork.I did this 50 years ago on a set of Norton long roadholder forks.I did this on the "old" boy network.Manchester in those days had many engineering firms ,Metro Vickes had 50,00 people working in their factory. All you have to do is bore slider/lower forks until they are round. You then make the lower mild steel bush to suit. The top bush has shim material added to suit OD of bush to ID of slider/lower fork.If you are having a hard time finding suitable shim material you can always bore out top end of slider/lowers to suit the shim material you can get.Simples and cheap.I did this when money was tight and I still have the forks today.
