Right cylinder head for 1963 88 Dominator

Forums

Hello,

my new project a 1963 88 Dominator came with a cylinder head with 1,3 inch inlet and outlet valves and the casting T 2225 on the top what is related to the Atlantic Green website a 1955 small fin head.

I found the right head for a 1963 88 would be one with the casting 22707 and 1,4 inch inlet valves and that this head is the right one for 88 and 99 models. As the cylinder bore for 88 is 66 mm and 68 for the 99 i wonder if one cylinder head was used for these two different bores as the combustion chamber form of an 88 cylinder with this head will not be ideal?

Thank you in advance for your advise in here.

The pictures you show  are for the earlier wideline head. Not right for slimline. I would go for the 1960  and onwards 88/99 head  which will fit your pipes and has the same size valves as the later downdraught head.It will also be cheaper and easier to find. and was used on the 88 sports special. It has the milled off fins above the plug holes. The 88/99 heads are the same chamber.
