Hello would members like to see and take part in a great gathering of ever model of Norton ever made the thing is finding a venue central in the UK. And the coordernation of this event and trophy, s for the best models .Members thoughts on this venue. Will be nice. yours. Anna j
Birmingham would seem to be logical as its where it all started.
.. the meet up at the NMM probably about 20 years ago with a ride in to Bracebridge Street to see the plaque unveiled by Geoff Duke and the then Mayor? Great event - I have a couple of pictures of the huge line of Nortons on the Small Heath bypass.
Would love to see those pictures Ian - could you post them here ?
.. if I can dig them out. Currently packing for an (hopefully) imminent house move so can't even find my toothbrush......
The big NOC gathering that I attended was in 1998. The weather was glorious. Over 400 Nortons paraded from the NMM along the main route to Bracebridge Street where we were greeted by John Hudson and Geoff Duke. I believe that from this gathering evolved the Tester's Run, celebrating the routes ridden by the Norton Factory Testing Team in all weathers.
Over 20 years since the last international in Scotland, just saying ........
Now guys and girl's next we need members to take up some type of coordernation from a number of branch's and a list of Norton's wishing to attend. With their owners and back drop themes from the motorcycles era starting with the Edwardian era to modern day and this need to be filmed for a DVD more ideas please. Your Anna j.
