News on Parts Commissioning
Two parts have been manufactured by the NOC and recently added to the Spares Shop.
Sump Oil Filter for the Norton Lightweight. Part number 17398.
Cam Follower for the Norton Lightweight. Part number 20871.
It is a year since I was appointed by the NOC Directors to establish those parts that members could not get anywhere, and which were desperately needed to keep the bikes on the road.
The appeal in Roadholder last October resulted in many suggestions. No requests for parts from 961 owners, but the rest were fairly represented. After filtering these requests against criticality and frequency of requests for the same part, these two came up.
I was most fortunate that dyeline copies of original drawings for these parts were rescued from Plumstead when it closed down, and were eventually bought by the NOC through Jo Francis Motors.
Presently, no further critical parts are on my list, but if you are stuck for that critical part, and have tried everywhere for it, including the club’s ‘Wanted’ in Roadholder, let me know by completing the form on this website.
