Were tank badges painted?
A question for all with excellent memories of the early 60s. Was the background to the raised letters on the Lightweight Norton tank badges painted and if so was it in the same colour as the tank?

In the aftermath of the moved out gear lever shaft bushing and the resulting difficulties in shifting gears the bushing was glued into the housing and the missing washers were added. A friend of mine altered a metric washer to fit the shaft.
.... and that failure's no success at all. But it can lead on to progress. I've just enjoyed a 25 mile jaunt on the Electra which ran very well and didn't run out of petrol (but I should fill it up).

I converted my 1961 Navigator oil pump form a 3 start to a 6 start pinion gear.
Can the Navigator oil sytem cope with the higher oil flow?
I noticed oil seeping out from under the cylinder heads in the last time.
A break in the rain has given me a chance to get the Navigator and Electra out for a good clean after the Navigator's looooong rebuild and the Electra's busy summer of reliable and enjoyable regular transport.
As I come to the end of a long rebuild of my trusty Navigator made necessary by a Landrover driver pulling out across the road resulting in a bent frame and broken wrist I have discovered the forks top yoke were also bent sufficiently to misalign
