Electra battery - single 12volt type

Forums

My Electra runs on an old, very poorly fitting, single 12v battery. I need a new one.

I recall seeing Ian soady amongst others recently advising what makes and types of battery had been found to be suitable for the Electra. Unfortunately, having trawled through the forum i have been unable to find the relevant info. Can anyone help ?

Many thanks.

Hi Alan, just a thought - does your Electra still have the second, original battery box u see the seat?   If it does you might consider fitting two Motobatt AGM technology MB5U 12v 7ah, 90 amp CCA batteries in parallel.  They fit perfectly in the original battery boxes, it is incredibly simple to wire them in parallel and after two years of use I can confirm they give more than enough power to start the engine with electronic ignition from cold every time even in freezing conditions.   I started mine last week first time after it had stood in an unheated garage for two months without use and it was a frosty morning!   They are £33.54 each next day delivery from Tayna batteries.  Good luck.  Nick

Whilst I've yet to use Tayna Batteries I know from watching No27 on YouTube (a classic car review programme) that they offer a 5% discount using the code NUMBER27YT. Might be worthwhile knowing this!

Regards to all.
