I'm trying to track down a crankcase oil leak on my 1973 Commando.
My Commando is popping out of first gear - not all the time but often enough to make a wet cheddar gorge tricky. I measured the kickshaft end float at 14 to 15 thou and decided to put a 5 thou shim in there and see how that went.
I,m fitting liners to a 750 block to get it back to std bore (it had damaged skirts) and as a matter of interest i weighed the new Hepolite branded std size pistons (made by JCC in Taiwan) and compared it to the +.060 thou JP pistons that were fit
Back in the day, as they say, there was talk of the famous "Twitter" on the overrun, Never happened for me Pw3 cam , Andover silencers or not. Then one day at Cirencester autojumble I acquired a pair of silencers, for a Tenner!

On my 850 mk3, I run pazon ignition and a single Mikuni carb. I am getting good compression (172 psi) on both cylinders, yet when I check the plugs one has a sooty core whereas the other looks fine?
In the process of getting stubborn tank liner out. I am going to run the bike over the summer before returning to nuts & bolts and shaking over the winter.
Recommendations for in line fuel filters would be welcome.
Thanks in advance for your help. I am re-installing the fuel taps on my Commando, however I did not take them off, so I am not sure what seals should be in place.
