You all know how you can get sucked into wikipedia meandering from one link to another? Well I ended up here and am now intrigued by the following:
"Military police from the Provost Company of the 1st London Division for escort and traffic control, commanded by Captain Sir Malcolm Campbell. At Campbell's suggestion they were equipped with fast Norton International Model 30 racing motorcycles rather than the standard military Norton WD16H of the era."
My assignment for my cousins across the pond is to find some photos and additonal info on this story. This will certainly involve footwork and research beyond our current lazy google habits. Anyone to take the bait?

Thanks Dave for taking the time to post this, a truly amazing photo. No doubt there are more lurking out there in people's family photo albums. Maybe this will smoke them out.

There are a few different models in that picture judging by the different front brakes and mudguards. We know that the Inter was a very expensive model, also that demand had dropped off considerably in the war years.
I wonder if people volunteered along with their civilian motorcycle.

I can't help you with your search for info on the Inters you mention but I have seen pictures of OHC Nortons in military use. Here's a picture of a Home guard unit with some very nice bikes
I've also got a picture of an OHC Norton painted in army colour, in use with other military vehicles. I was sent it on the condition I don't share it, as it was bought for a lot of money.
