Wiring diagram

The Podtronics is a combined regulator and rectifier, therfore you do not need a separate rectifier. However, before ordering the Podtronics you need to know whether you have a single or three phase alternator and order accordingly. Yes, the old zener and rectifier are redundant............ But you could leave them in place (if serviceable) butNOT connected, justin case the replacemnet were to fail and then some roadside wire swapping would get you home.

Good advice - leave zeners and rectifier in place after disconnection. I had this combined little soild state rectifier / regulator fitted on my Mk 3 850which worked OK but did not allow charge warning light function which had to be disconnected as it stayed on with engine running. Missed the reassuringlittle red glow going out on start upindicating normal charging function so refittedan original Lucas rectifier (had a new spare one)and original zeners- all works fineincluding charge warning light function.
