Hi to all ,have recently bought a wideline frame & the frame numbers are not on the gussets left or right sides ? Never been stamped? The only numbers I have seem to be on the headstock ? Starting from S122 xxxxx I was told it was from around the 1954 year? As I am building this as aTriton & motorcycle is about finished I need more info as I would like to put on the road asap but as I live in Germany you need lots of paperwork?regards Darren

Darren. There is no 'S' year code letter. They finished at 'R' in 1960, from then on relying on serial numbers for year identification. 1954 was 'J' year code. 122 indicates a model 88.
The actual frame number would help, but it would not have started with 'S'. Norton did stamp numbers on the headstock on some frames apparently, but not on the Featherbed, which was always on the left-hand rear frame gusset.
