On YOUTUBE there are three excellent war time films on maintaining, servicing and riding the wd 16h. In one of the close up shots of the engine unit there is, what I presume to be, an earth wire from one of the magneto end cover fixing screws. On looking at the mag on my ES2 there is the same terminal connection. Should I be running a wire to earth? John

The original rubber-covered harness on my WD16H had a similar length running from the 'E' terminal on the CVC box as the 'F' and 'D' wires for the dynamo.
It therefore seemed logical to me that the earth should use the grub screw that screws into the slotted nut. I ran my battery earth there too as it seemed the closest point that featured a decent clamping arrangement.
I have a VHS copy of the 'Army Motorcycling' film so it may be that I had seen that first...I can't remember now.
