Speedo cable for 1951 ES2

I am the new proud owner of a 51 ES2 (possibly someone has some history on this bike from UK. It was imported to the US in 2006 and sat in storage until I aquired it this month). Anyway, this is not the reason for the post, the bike is in great condition and is running quite well...at least it seemed to in the short while I have had to ride it between Spring rain storms. I found the only issue was the non working speedo. I pulled the unit, disassembled the speedo and cleaned it out well, then have been trying to find a proper cable. The old cable is broken, and I have heard stories of poorly made new ones from China and India ruining the gears in the Chronometric head unit. Does anyone have any good sources? My cable length is 5'7" total.
