When did Norton stop using rollers in the sleeve (4th) gear (behind the thrust washer), and why?. Ive just ordered some rollers for a laydown gearbox. It was stripped so I assumed it had rollers in, same as an upright box. Looking at the parts list for the laydown, the rollers are omitted.
Cheers
John.
P.S. thanks for the help so far, great forum with informative chaps (and chapesses)

The laydown definatly does…
The laydown definatly does have rollers in the sleeve gear as standard, but I know someone who has machined the sleeve gear on his dolls head box to take a bush same as the AMC box
