Shot blasting/Powder coating

I live in south Norfolk. Any recommendations for shot blasting and powder coating my frame and various bits and pieces?

Try GKL Powder Coating in Thetford - ask for Chris. Although I hadn't used them myself, my next-door neighbour used them frequently for his bike renovations and the results looked very good and durable.

I've recently moved away from Norfolk, so I'd now be interested to hear of any similar recommendations relating to W. Yorkshire.

Hi, Ian.

You mustn't have seen my recent reply to Mel Hadfield on this subject, as below. Hopefully this will help. Since sorting my tank I've also had my front mudguard stays, rear lifting handles, carrier and primary chaincase blasted and powder coated here and am very pleased with the result. Cost of this later work, for a total of 13 individual pieces, was £50. They were returned each individually wrapped in clingfilm to protect them.

It rather depends in which part of the country you are but I have very recently had my 650SS tank refurbished via Pennine Powder Coating of Todmorden in West Yorkshire. Powder coating wasn't appropriate in my case as I had just sorted out relining the inside of the tank but Chris at Pennine, also very much a Norton man, has a contact in Rochdale who made a smashing job of respraying it. Very pleased with the result and the total cost of shot blasting the outside of the tank and the respray was only £160. You can reach Chris if you want to take things further on 07736 771759.

Regards.

I have had a lot of good work done at a reasonable price by NB Coatings. Unit 11, Brittania Works, Skinner Lane, Pontefract, W Yorks.

First frame they blasted and coated for me was in 93 and still looks like new today.
